Fifteen students from Irvington High School’s Science Research Program had an exceptional performance at the virtual 2025 Tri-County Science & Technology Fair, where they competed alongside students from 20 area high schools.

Guided by dedicated program advisers Amy Ma and Nadia Parikka, the students submitted digital posters and recorded 12-minute video presentations showcasing their original research projects. Five students earned top honors in their respective categories:

  • Max Bloom – second place, Medicine and Medical Science & Technology category.
  • Laurel Neubauer – second place, Health & Nutrition.
  • Lucy Acharekar – third place, Health & Nutrition.
  • Amber Lai – third place, Physiological & Experimental Psychology.
  • Daisy Lamb – third place, Environmental Science.

In addition, Max Bloom was selected as a nominee for the New York State Science Congress, an honor extended by the Science Teachers Association of New York State. He will join other top regional finalists from across the state to present his research at the prestigious Science Congress event on June 8 in Syracuse, New York. The New York State Science Congress is a culminating recognition for students who have demonstrated excellence through NYS-affiliated regional science fairs.
