Village of Croton-on-Hudson Expands Road Resurfacing Project with Increased State Funding

Pat Paving Inc., the contractor for road resurfacing this year in the Village of Croton-on-Hudson, began milling Scenic Drive West on September 24. Weather-permitting, work will continue on Lower North Highland Place and portions of Cleveland Drive this week. All roads are expected to be repaved by October 10.

The Village of Croton-on-Hudson has announced an expanded schedule for its upcoming road resurfacing projects, made possible by increased state funding. The work, which will include milling, prep work, and paving, is part of the Village’s ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving local infrastructure. The first phase of the road resurfacing projects is expected to begin tomorrow, conditions permitting.

Roads included in the Project:

  • Cleveland Drive (between Gotwald Circle and Piney Point Avenue)
  • Lower North Highland Place
  • Scenic Drive West

Project Schedule:

  • Milling: September 24 through September 26
  • Prep Work: September 29 through October 3
  • Paving: October 6 through October 10

Work will be conducted between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, and residents should be aware that the schedule is subject to change due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.

During milling and paving, temporary restrictions on driveway access may occur. Crews will work to minimize disruptions and restore access as quickly as possible. Motorists are advised to plan their travel accordingly and expect potential delays in these areas.

The expanded capital program was announced at an August 27, 2025, Board of Trustees work session. Notice of the paving schedule was distributed to residents this Monday.

“Investing in our local infrastructure is critical for the safety and quality of life for our residents. We must continue to invest in our state and local roads. I’m proud to have helped secure this increase in CHIPS funding for local communities. Better local roads make a tangible difference for everyone who travels these roads,” said Senator Pete Harckham.

“Working with our partners in the legislature and executive, we were able to increase the CHIPS funding and help our municipalities better serve our residents. This will not only improve the condition of these streets but also reduce wear and tear on vehicles and ensure smoother commutes for our community members,” said Assemblymember Dana Levenberg.

“This is a fantastic example of state-local partnership. The increased CHIPS funding from New York State allows us to address our infrastructure needs more efficiently and provide our residents with the quality roads they deserve,” said Mayor Brian Pugh.
