Looking for a better car deal this fall?
Prices are finally coming down on certain models — especially ones that were overpriced in 2021–2023. EpicVIN Plate Lookup tracks millions of vehicle listings, auction results, and ownership trends. We’ve dug into that data and matched it with market trends and real opinions from car buyers.

Here are five cars expected to drop in price this fall — and why it’s happening.

  1. Tesla Model 3
  • Used prices expected to fall by 8–12%
  • Main reason: High supply, softening EV demand

After years of inflated resale prices, the Tesla Model 3 is finally cooling off. New competition from Hyundai, Kia, and Chevy is making EV buyers think twice. At the same time, early Model 3s are reaching higher mileage, and many are hitting the used market at once.

“We’re seeing a significant increase in off-lease Model 3s. Prices are correcting fast,” says Alex Black, CMO at EpicVIN. “We’ve also noticed battery replacement questions bringing down buyer confidence.”

Reddit users agree. In a recent thread, many noted that used Model 3s with over 60k miles are dropping into the low $20,000s. One buyer wrote: “They’re starting to pile up at my local dealer. No one wants to spend $25k on a 5-year-old EV.”

  1. Jeep Grand Cherokee
  • Price drop forecast: 7–10%
  • Main reason: High inventory, expensive repairs

The Grand Cherokee has seen a lot of love in recent years, but that demand is fading. Many 2022 and 2023 models are coming off lease, and dealers are flooded with supply. EpicVIN data also shows that repair costs — especially for the 4xe plug-in version — are turning buyers away.

“Jeep’s resale values are struggling right now,” notes Alex Black. “When you add high maintenance costs to a crowded SUV market, prices fall fast.”

If you’re shopping for a midsize SUV, waiting until October or November could save you thousands.

  1. Ford F-150 (Gasoline Models)
  • Expected price decline: 6–9%
  • Main reason: EV and hybrid competition, fleet turnover

The F-150 remains the best-selling truck in America — but older gas-only models are becoming less attractive. New hybrid and Lightning EV versions are now more popular with fleet buyers. EpicVIN’s auction data shows a 9% year-over-year drop in average sale price for 2018–2021 F-150s.

Used truck shoppers can expect better deals this fall, especially if they avoid premium trims.

  1. Toyota Camry (Gas-Only Models)
  • Forecasted drop: 5–7%
  • Main reason: Shift toward hybrid models

The Camry is reliable, but the gas-only versions aren’t as hot as they used to be. Toyota is focusing more on hybrid and all-wheel drive versions, and buyers are following that trend. Older Camry LE and SE trims are sitting longer on dealer lots, according to EpicVIN inventory tracking.

Pro tip: Look for 2021–2022 Camrys with higher mileage. They’re well-built, and discounts are starting to show up.

  1. Chevrolet Bolt EV
  • Price drop estimate: 10–14%
  • Main reason: Production ended, battery recall concerns

The Chevy Bolt is no longer being made — and that’s driving down used values. Buyers are cautious because of past battery recall issues, and EpicVIN’s report data shows over 3,000 Bolts flagged for recall repairs in Q2 2025 alone.

“The Bolt was always a value pick,” says Alex Black. “But now that it’s discontinued, resale is dropping faster than expected.”

Some Bolts under 30,000 miles are already dipping below $17,000. Expect more deals in the coming months.

Why Prices Are Dropping Now

A few key trends are driving these price changes:

  • High interest rates are making people hold onto cars longer, lowering demand.
  • Lease returns are hitting the used market all at once — especially for 2021 and 2022 models.
  • EV market correction is pushing down prices on electric cars from 2020–2023.
  • EpicVIN auction data shows a 7.4% average price drop across all segments from March to July 2025.

If you’ve been waiting to buy a car, fall 2025 may be your moment — especially for used EVs and SUVs. EpicVIN’s VIN check tools can help you avoid hidden problems and make sure you’re not buying a car with past accident or flood history.
