Westchester County Nature CentersWestchester County Parks system offers fun-filled events, programs and activities all season long. The following are the programs for the weekend of September 14th – September 15th.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 14
Lenoir Preserve, Dudley Street, Yonkers – (914) 968-5851
Lenoir and Beyond: You Can Get There from Here!

A hike to through Lenoir, to the Old Croton Aqueduct, to the Hastings Farmers Market and back.

Marshlands Conservancy, Route 1 (Boston Post Road), Rye – (914) 835-4466
Pond whatsit? – 2 p.m.

Kids can use dip nets to discover the creatures that live below the surface of the ponds.

Trailside Nature Museum at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Cross River – (914) 864-7377
Naturalist’s Choice Hike – 1 p.m.

Depending on weather and weather seasonal changes, a hike through the reservation with the naturalist.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 15
Marshlands Conservancy, Route 1 (Boston Post Road), Rye – (914) 835-4466

Fall Bird Migrants: The Next Wave – 7:30 a.m.
Bring binoculars for last sightings of birds getting ready to head South for the winter.

Fall Fungus Find – 2 p.m.
A hike to search for capped and slimy wonders in nature.
