The Lakeland School District proudly recognized seven student-athletes who officially committed to continue their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level this fall. Joined by families, coaches, and teammates, these seniors celebrated an important milestone in their athletic journeys.
Three Lakeland High School field hockey standouts are headed to respected collegiate programs: Shannon Quaile signed with Hartford University, Jenna Yazzetti committed to Frostburg State University, and Brianna Heyde will take her talents to Marywood University.
On the lacrosse field, four dynamic athletes sealed their futures as well. Mya Wilkowski of Walter Panas High School will play for the University of Rochester. Lakeland High School’s Brooke Pizzarello committed to the University at Albany, Sophia Hoffman signed with Clarkson University, and Veronica Lynch will compete for Maine Maritime Academy.
These signings reflect the strength and depth of Lakeland’s athletic programs. Each year, the district proudly sees many of its athletes move on to compete in college across a wide range of sports—from track and field and baseball to its nationally recognized field hockey program.
