Come Celebrate 150 years of Peekskill History at the Herrick House

Are you looking for something different to do on an otherwise sleepy Sunday afternoon? We’ve got a solution and a suggestion—The Peekskill Museum cordially invites you to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the storied Herrick House, a local landmark and repository of the community’s history and lore, on October 5th, from 2:00-5:00pm.

If you’ve never visited the Museum, located at 124 Union Avenue, here’s your chance to spend a delightful day learning about the art and architecture of the Herrick House, its inhabitants, view exhibits, or take a guided tour while enjoying refreshments and live entertainment.

The afternoon will feature a renowned guest speaker—Mosette Broderick, NYU Professor and author of “Art Architecture, Scandal and Class in America’s Gilded Age.” Chat with Ms. Broderick at The Museum’s Gilded Age Cocktail Hour meet-and-greet, following the lecture. Nibble on delectable hors ‘d oeuvres while sipping a glass of wine or ice cold beer, and explore the treasure trove of artifacts from Peekskill and surrounding communities.

The Assumption Church Hall (directly across from the Museum) will be the venue for the first part of the program (the lecture), and the Herrick House will host the cocktail party immediately following Ms. Broderick’s talk.

We invite you to take a step back in time, mingle with old friends or meet new ones at this annual fundraising event. We encourage you to become a member, get involved as a volunteer, or consider joining us on the Board of Directors. We welcome your talents, creative contributions and donations to help keep this venerable Peekskill landmark open for the enjoyment and education of future generations.

We look forward to seeing you, and we thank you for your support!
