The League of Women Voters of Northwest Westchester will host a virtual forum via Zoom Webinar for candidates for County Legislator District Nine (Cortlandt, Ossining, Croton, Briarcliff, Buchanan).
Questions, Submissions, and Registration for the virtual County Legislator District 9 forum is found on the LWVNWW website: https://www.lwv-nww.org/voter-info. Registration for the virtual forum is required to receive the Zoom login link.
- Thursday, October 30
- 7:00pm-8:30pm
All questions come from the public and must be submitted by Thursday, October 25th. No questions will be taken during the virtual candidates’ forum. The Q&A and Chat functions will be disabled. Candidates do NOT receive the questions prior to the forum.
The moderator selected for these forums is LWVW trained and resides outside of the voting district.
In accordance with the League’s “Empty Chair Policy”, a candidate forum may proceed with participation of at least one candidate from each party. To date, LWVNWW has secured sufficient participation for these forums.
The mission of the League and its local affiliates is to empower voters by promoting informed citizen participation in government, and defending democracy. The League is nonpartisan and does not support or oppose individual candidates or parties.
“2025 is an elections year with emphasis on the “s”, says LWVNWW co-president Kathy Meany. “Not only does Westchester County have many city/town/village elections, but the County Executive, Clerk and 17 Legislators are also up for elections.”
Co-president Teri Lukin adds “Local elections are just as important as state and national elections. Your voice is your vote. We hope you can join us.”
Voters may locate their districts and ballots at www.vote411.org.
