Defend The Vote Endorses Cait Conley for NY-17

Cait Conley

Today, Defend The Vote endorsed Cait Conley for Congress in New York’s 17th Congressional District. Defend the Vote is a pro-democracy group that supports candidates who will fight for fair elections, voting access, voter education, and voter protection.

“Cait Conley is ready to take on the corruption in Washington that’s driving up costs and squeezing families,” Defend The Vote Executive Director Brian Lemek said. “Cait Conley will work to unrig the system so it serves everyone, not just corporate lobbyists and billionaire donors. We’re proud to endorse her and look forward to helping her win in November.”

“I am truly honored to have the support of Defend The Vote, a pro-democracy group that fights to preserve one of our most fundamental American rights – our right to vote,” said NY-17 Democratic candidate Cait Conley. “As someone who led the efforts to secure the 2024 elections at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, I understand firsthand the seriousness of the threats we face from both foreign adversaries and domestic actors – and the responsibility we have to defend against them.

Right now, we are seeing unprecedented attacks on our elections and Mike Lawler is right there enabling them. With Defend the Vote in my corner, we’re going to hold him accountable, rein in this reckless administration, and make sure our democracy, and our future, stays in the hands of the American people.”

In addition to Defend the Vote’s endorsement, Cait has earned dozens of other endorsements across NY-17 and beyond to include: The Dutchess County Democratic Committee, Congressman Pat Ryan (D-NY-18), Congressman Jason Crow (D-CO-06), the Lewisboro, Pound Ridge, and Kent Democratic Committees, the Peekskill Democratic City Committee, Westchester County Legislator Emiljana Ulaj, City of Peekskill Deputy Mayor Patricia Riley, and Peekskill Councilmembers Kathie Talbot, Charlie DiGruccio, and Brian Fassett, Village of Haverstraw Trustee Richard Sena, Patterson Town Councilwoman Gwen Dougherty, as well as major national Democratic organizations including VoteVets, Equality PAC, The Next 50, Majority Democrats, and New Politics.
