Congressman-Elect George Latimer Announces Key Leadership Positions for His Upcoming Administration

Congressman-Elect George Latimer (CD-16) has named two individuals to assume key leadership posts as his administration begins to take shape in Washington. Latimer has nominated Ellen Hendrickx to serve as District Director, and Tremaine O’Garro to serve as Deputy District Director of his Westchester and Bronx District offices, respectively.

Latimer said: “I consider both Ellen Hendrickx and Tremaine O’Garro to be tremendous additions to the team, as both have proven their longstanding commitment to public service in their previous roles. Ellen has served as Greenburgh Town Councilwoman since 2021, and as a former member of my administration as County Executive, is deeply entrenched in the issues that affect Westchester County. Tremaine has also dedicated his professional life to state and city government work under Assemblymember Michael Benedetto, and has greatly fostered his awareness of the needs of the Bronx community. Both have a strong track record of success, and I am honored and excited that they will be joining me in Washington, D.C.”

Hendrickx joined Latimer’s Executive Team in Westchester County as Assistant Director of Intergovernmental Services in 2019, and was later promoted to Director of Research, in addition to managing Boards and Commissions to the County Executive’s Office. O’Garro will be joining Latimer’s team following a three-year stint in the assembly under Assembly Education Chair Michael R. Benedetto. O’Garro also served as District Leader of the 82nd Assembly District (Part A), and Chairman of the New York State Democratic Party’s Black Caucus.

Hendrickx said: “Having served in the Legislative and Executive branches of County Government and as an elected Town official, I now look forward to working on Federal issues to help our Westchester neighbors. I can think of no better person to represent than Congressman Latimer and I am confident that our team in White Plains will do its utmost to help the people of our district with their needs.”

O’Garro said: “I am truly excited to join this talented, dedicated and service-focused team. Under the strong and visionary leadership of Congressman George Latimer, this team will deliver exemplary results to our constituency in the Bronx and Westchester, and I am honored to be a part of it.”
