Chair of the Westchester County Democratic Committee, Endorses Cait Conley for NY-17

Cait Conley

Suzanne Berger, Chair of the Westchester County Democratic Committee, endorsed Cait Conley for Congress in New York’s 17th Congressional District.

“This November, Democrats must take control of Congress. To do that, we must elect a Democrat in New York’s 17th Congressional District,” said Berger in an Opinion to LoHud. “Cait Conley is the best candidate for the job and will accomplish this critical mission. I’ve had the opportunity to get to know Conley over the past 16 months and have watched her in a variety of settings and in multiple candidate forums. At age 41, she can be our future.”

“I am thrilled to have the support of Suzanne Berger in this fight to take on Mike Lawler and help deliver the House majority for Democrats,” said Conley. “The stakes of this election could not be higher.  We need a Congress that works for the American people, not a corrupt President. I know we can beat Mike Lawler, but I can’t do it alone. I am so proud to have Suzanne, who for over twenty years has been a steadfast Democratic leader in Westchester, on our team.”

This endorsement comes as a new poll released today by VoteVets shows Army Combat Veteran Cait Conley leading the primary election by 7 points.

In addition to Berger, Cait has earned the support of the New York’s teacher’s union (NYSUT), the Putnam County Democratic Committee, the Dutchess County Democratic Committee, as well as the Democratic Town Committees of North Castle, Ossining, Peekskill, Mount Kisco, Kent, Pound Ridge, Cortlandt, and Lewisboro, and dozens of other current and former local leaders as well as Congressman Pat Ryan (NY-18) and Former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, in addition to more than a dozen national Democratic and progressive organizations, including Vote Vets, LGBTQ+ Victory Fund, NRDC Action Fund, and New Dems Action Fund.
