Arlene Burgos Wins Decisively in Historic Irvington Mayoral Election

The Irvington Democratic Committee is proud to announce that Democratic candidate Arlene Burgos has been elected Mayor of Irvington, winning decisively by an 11% margin against Irvington First Party candidate Robert Grados. Burgos received 1,387 votes (55.5%) to Grados’s 1,113 votes (44.5%) in what was the highest voter turnout in an Irvington mayoral election in history.

This decisive victory represents a clear mandate from Irvington voters, who overwhelmingly chose experience, collaboration, and a steady hand to guide the village forward. Arlene Burgos has demonstrated her commitment to transparent, community-driven leadership throughout her years of service as Trustee and Deputy Mayor.

“Thank you to all Irvington voters for participating in the democratic process and making your voices heard,” said Burgos. “I am so excited to continue the work we’ve started and to collaborating with the accomplished members of the next Board of Trustees, including Josie Bloom, Kent Kleiman, Larry Ogrodnek, and David Zwiebel, as well as our new Village Administrator. It’s an exciting time for Irvington to move forward with transparency, accountability, and vibrant community engagement.”

Burgos’s campaign was supported by a broad coalition of current and former Irvington leaders, including current Village Trustees Mitchell Bard, Josie Bloom, and Kent Kleiman, incoming Trustees Larry Ogrodnek and David Zwiebel, and former Irvington Mayor Nicola Coddington.

The Irvington Democratic Committee is deeply grateful to the voters of Irvington for their record-setting participation and confidence in Arlene’s leadership.
