Open Door, a non-profit pioneer in community-based primary medical care, serves more than 55,000 patients each year, many of whom would be otherwise unable to afford quality health care, living at or below the federal poverty line.
Local residents who wish to donate are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys for newborns through 14 year-olds (valued up to $20) to any of six centers including: Mount Kisco at 30 W. Main Street; Ossining at 165 Main Street; Port Chester at 5 Grace Church Street; Sleepy Hollow at 80 Beekman Avenue; Brewster at 155 Main Street, Suite 101 (lower level) and in Mamaroneck at 689 Mamaroneck Avenue. Donations are accepted through December 15th.
Toys are distributed during Santa Days at Open Door Family Medical Centers through December 19th, and the organization seeks volunteers to help staff Santa Days and provide help with decorating, setting up toy zones and more. Volunteers are also needed to help with everything from gift-wrapping and toy sorting, to toy drive pick-ups. High School and College students, adults, or middle school students with parents/adults are welcome!
For information on volunteer locations and dates, or to make a monetary donation to the toy drive (Open Door team members will purchase a toy on your behalf), contact Alicia Ward at (914) 502-1468 or award@odfmc.org
Credit card donations may be made online at: https://www.opendoormedical.org/join-us/volunteer/holiday-toy-drive/toy-drive-donation-form. Be sure to note “Toy Drive” in the comment box.
