Spotlight on Dr. Richard Hochenberg

Richard Hochenberg DDS Tarrytown“Bespoke” is not used as a term for a dental practice,  but in this instance it defines the timeless values and principles of Dr. Richard Hochenberg. His practice embraces the values of a bygone era — one of a direct relationship with his patients and their oral healthcare.  As the sole provider of dental care in his offices, Rick offers classic values married with modern technology.

At right, Dr. Richard Hochenberg and his assistant Susan.

State-of-the-art processes and equipment like the digital x-rays and intra-oral cameras are the tools of this seasoned professional. For Rick, it’s important to know his patients’ oral history firsthand from the day they step into his office.

He enjoyed a 20-year career as a professor at NYU’s College of Dentistry, where restorative dentistry was his specialty, and now finds passion in running his practices with his assistant, Susan, who completed dental assistant training.  Rick is a strong advocate for the future generation of dentists who are becoming leaders in science, based on knowledge of the procedures and how to promote patient relations.  Conveying options to his patients with clear, fearless resolve creates innovations in the industry and better oral healthcare. Over the years, Rick and Susan have learned how to provide the type of individual attention and care that outweighs large, multi-employee situations.

Richard Hochenberg has had his private dental practice in Tarrytown, NY for 13 years, in conjunction with the sister practice, of almost 40 years, on the Upper West side of Manhattan. When patients visit either office, they are greeted by individuals who are enthusiastic, qualified, and ready to help shed any worries over oral care – Rick and Susan.

Sound advice, thorough explanations of options, and the knowledge of quality dental care are vital attributes for the right dentist.  Along with an empathic chair-side manner, patients are able to make smart decisions on their treatment.  Rick has worked his whole career cultivating this atmosphere.

An avid sports fan, and dedicated community member, Rick and his wife, Flora, have two grown children and serve on the Library Advocates Board of his alma mater, Bowling Green State University.
