Northwell Health has launched Northwell Orthopedics at White Plains, a $2.36 million, 4,630-square-foot facility designed to bring comprehensive orthopedic services closer to home for residents. This is the health system’s third dedicated orthopedic practice in Westchester, adding to the system’s existing locations in Tarrytown and Purchase.
Located at 244 Westchester Ave., Suite 400, the new practice features nine exam rooms, on-site imaging, and a wide array of specialized surgical and non-surgical services for adults and adolescents. Focused on musculoskeletal health, the new medical practice offers advanced treatment across a wide range of subspecialties, including:
- Back, neck and spine
- Hand and wrist
- Hip and knee
- Shoulder and elbow
- Sports medicine
- Foot and ankle
- Podiatry
“This new White Plains location allows us to deliver easily accessible, comprehensive orthopedic care right here in lower Westchester,” said Brandon Erickson, MD, chief of orthopedics at Northwell’s Phelps Hospital and regional director of orthopedics in Westchester. “Our team of fellowship-trained specialists provides expert, tailored care for every patient, from preventative and non-surgical care to complex surgical procedures and innovative biologic therapies.”
The practice is equipped with advanced diagnostics like X-ray imaging and an array of minimally invasive, non-surgical treatment options. Among them are innovative biologic therapies such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP), often administered via ultrasound-guided injection. PRP harnesses the body’s innate ability to heal and regenerate tissue, helping to treat a range of conditions from tennis elbow to arthritis.
“This new facility represents a strategic investment to enhance patient access to highly specialized services and bring the full breadth of Northwell’s expert orthopedic resources to even more Westchester residents,” said Frank Schwab, MD, Northwell’s vice president of orthopedic surgery for its western market, chairman of orthopedic surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital, system chief of orthopedic spine surgery, and co-executive director of the Northwell Spine Institute.
Patients requiring surgery will have streamlined access to Northwell’s Phelps and Northern Westchester (NWH) hospitals, as well as the Surgical Specialty Center of Westchester in Harrison, ensuring continuity across the full spectrum of high-quality orthopedic care.
As NY’s most experienced orthopedic team, Northwell clinicians are widely recognized for excellence and leadership. More people choose Northwell for orthopedic care than any other health system in the state.* NWH has been recognized with The Joint Commission’s advanced certification for total hip and knee replacement as well as core certification in spine surgery. Phelps is ranked by U.S. News & World Report as a high-performing hospital for orthopedics and has been recognized for superior clinical performance in hip fracture treatment by Healthgrades each of the last eight years.
