The Westchester Children’s Association (WCA) will host its biennial fundraising Gala on Wednesday, May 13, at the C.V. Rich Mansion (305 Ridgeway, White Plains, NY).

This year’s event will feature the presentation of the Edith C. Macy Award for Distinguished Service, awarded posthumously to Maris Krasnow. Established in 2005, the award recognizes an individual or group whose advocacy and accomplishments have made a lasting and meaningful impact on the lives of children in Westchester County.

The award honors the legacy of Edith Carpenter Macy an advocate, activist, philanthropist, and one of WCA’s founders in 1914 whose pioneering efforts helped shape opportunities for children across the region.

“Like Edith C. Macy, Maris Krasnow dedicated her life to advancing the well-being of children,” said Adam Rabinovitch, Executive Director WCA “As a WCA Board member for more than 21 years, she championed equity and access with unwavering commitment. Her leadership and passion transformed our work and strengthened outcomes for children across Westchester. There is no one more deserving of this recognition.”

WCA’s Gala is the organization’s largest annual fundraiser, bringing together community leaders, advocates, and supporters for an evening of cocktails, dinner, and celebration. The program will feature live music performed by students and faculty of the Westchester Conservatory of Music, along with a live and silent auction.

Proceeds from the event will support WCA’s ongoing advocacy, research, and community initiatives aimed at improving the lives of children and families throughout Westchester County and beyond. Registration is open now until May 1 at this link: https://tinyurl.com/WCA2026Gala
