With food insecurity rising across the New York metropolitan area, The Children’s Village is launching its annual Feeding Families Thanksgiving Drive to ensure that 1,500 young people and families can celebrate the season with warmth, togetherness, and a nourishing meal..
Since the drive began, The Children’s Village has distributed thousands of Thanksgiving boxes to young people and families across the region—each one a reminder of the power of community and compassion.
“Food insecurity has reached more households than ever before, and the need grows every year. Our Feeding Our Families drive is more than a tradition, it’s a lifeline that helps restore hope and stability for families who simply want to gather around a meal together,” said Leydi Rodriguez Director of Community Engagement
Community members can join the effort in one of three ways:
- Host a Food Drive: Organize a collection at your workplace or community center.
- Donate Online: Contribute funds at https://childrensvillage.org/turkeydrive/ to help purchase gift cards and bulk food.
- Shop the Amazon Registry: Purchase items directly from the curated list: https://www.amazon.com/registries/gl/guest-view/VOP9F4OYLWD7.
Anyone who wishes to donate items directly can drop them off at The Children’s Village’s main campus, located at 1 Echo Hill, Dobbs Ferry, NY 10522.
The week before Thanksgiving, The Children’s Village will distribute food to families identified by program managers across both residential and community programs.
This year, The Children’s Village is partnering with its Pastoral Care Services division to bring comfort and nourishment to the families who need it most. Together, we have set an ambitious yet essential goal: to provide over 1,500 families with baskets of Thanksgiving essentials, along with either a $25 gift card or a turkey, ensuring that every family we serve can enjoy a warm holiday meal.
Join The Children’s Village in sharing the spirit of the giving season—because every young person and family deserves to celebrate with joy.
