On Saturday, October 3, the Peekskill Rotary Club, known for its fun-filled, community-oriented festivals, will be holding its annual Fall Festival at Peekskill Riverfront Green. There will be a DJ, dancing, food trucks, local art and craft art vendors, raffles, prizes, and children’s activities including pumpkin painting, a kids’ maze, inflatables, and more. This year will also feature a Pumpkin Patch where you can pick your pumpkin and buy fall plants. And, to help the local community, the Rotary will be holding a Blood Drive.
In addition to the many food trucks, the Rotary Cafe features bagels, donuts, fresh grilled ham, egg, and cheese sandwiches for breakfast, grilled cheese, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot pretzels, popcorn, apple cider, and water throughout the day. Enjoy the various choices for food, chat with others in the seating area tents, wander through the art and craft vendors, listen to music, dance, and watch children joyfully play. Meet Rotarians, your neighbors, and student volunteers who are giving their time to work at the festival. See for yourself why Peekskill earned the moniker “Peekskill is a Friendly Town”.
The event runs from 11 am – 5 pm, rain or shine. Admission and parking to the event are free. Peekskill’s Riverfront Green is steps from the Peekskill Metro North Train station, convenient to all. The park is dog friendly.
“This event is designed not only to offer a day of outdoor fun for the community, but to raise money to give back to the local area and to international projects. It is one of our major fundraisers” said Stephanie Carlone, President Elect of the Rotary Club of Peekskill, responsible for organizing this year’s event. Adrienne LaValley, current Rotary President added, “Peekskill Rotarians will be on hand to talk about the many scholarships available and grants that have been given out recently, such as to the Peekskill High School Music Room, their Robotics Team, NECS, Black Diamonds, The Daisy Jopling Music Mentorship Foundation, and more. Rotarians love to share our stories.”
