Largest Dog Event in Westchester County to be Held on May 17

SPCA Westchester is thrilled to host its popular Dog Walk and Pet Fair on May 17th. This fun-filled family event takes place at FDR State Park in Yorktown Heights from 10am to 1pm and is attended by more than 1,000 animal lovers from throughout the tri-state area.

Pet enthusiasts and their canine companions are invited to take part in a trail walk and to enjoy a huge pet fair which includes: shopping in the SPCA’s Meow and Wooftown Village of 50+ vendors; dog agility demos; an interactive dog park playground; lure coursing; a nosework sniffari area; yummy food trucks; fun kid activities; music; and dozens of adorable, adoptable dogs and puppies.

“We’re looking forward to seeing old friends, making new ones and bringing the community together to raise critical funds for the animals in our care,” said Shannon Laukhuf, SPCA Westchester’s Chief Executive Officer.

Lisa LaRocca and Lisa Salvadorini of News12 Westchester are joining forces to serve as emcees and Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace, will be cutting the official Dog Walk ribbon. “As a dog mom and lifelong animal lover, I am proud to support the important mission of SPCA Westchester,” said DA Cacace. “The work of protecting our most vulnerable constituents includes our four-legged companions and as District Attorney, my office will always be there for them just as they are always there for us.”

It is not required to pre-register to attend the SPCA Dog Walk and Pet Fair and it is rain or shine! To learn more about this wonderful event and to register in advance, visit spcawestchester.org/spca-dog-walk.
