This Saturday, April 25, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) Hudson Valley/Westchester Chapter will host its annual Hike for Hope, bringing together hundreds of participants to raise awareness, honor loved ones, and support the fight to prevent suicide.
The event will take place at Bear Mtn., Parking Lot #1, welcoming individuals, families, community groups, and local businesses united by a shared commitment to mental health and saving lives.
Hike for Hope has become one of the region’s most impactful community-driven events, combining physical activity with purpose. Participants will hike together in solidarity while helping to fund AFSP’s critical work in education, advocacy, research, and support for those affected by suicide.
“Events like Hike for Hope remind people that they are not alone,” said Maria Idoni, Area Director for AFSP Hudson Valley/Westchester. “This community continues to show up in a powerful way, bringing hope, connection, and real impact to the conversation around mental health. In addition to the hike, the event will feature a DJ, free breakfast, memory and healing activities, lawn games, and food trucks.
Funds raised through Hike for Hope directly support AFSP’s mission to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide. The organization leads the fight through research, education, advocacy, and support for survivors of suicide loss.
