Hope’s Door, a nonprofit which seeks to end domestic violence, hosted their annual spring fundraiser, Gala of Hope, on May 7th at The Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club. The room was filled with community leaders, clients, and supporters of the organization’s mission to create safe homes for people impacted by the trauma of abuse.

Centered around a butterfly theme symbolizing transformation and resilience, the evening highlighted the power of community, the growth and healing experienced by survivors through Hope’s Door’s services, and the vital role advocates play in changing lives. Guests enjoyed sunset cocktails, live music, dancing, and an auction, all in support of Hope’s Door’s mission to provide safety, shelter, advocacy, and long-term support for individuals and families affected by abuse.

The evening also honored St. Matthew’s Church for its longstanding commitment to Hope’s Door and unwavering support of survivors in the Westchester community.

“At a time when the realities of domestic violence are becoming increasingly visible, gatherings like this matter deeply,” said CarlLa Horton, Executive Director of Hope’s Door. “They ensure that survivors have access to the support they need and remind us all of our role in creating safer communities.”

Throughout the evening, attendees were reminded of the critical importance of community in addressing domestic violence, both in responding to immediate needs and in supporting long-term prevention efforts. Funds raised will directly support Hope’s Door’s comprehensive services, including emergency shelter, crisis intervention, legal advocacy, and economic empowerment programs. This past year, Hope’s Door provided counseling and safety-planning support to 914 victims of domestic violence; offered 5,092 nights of safety to survivors and their children in our emergency shelter; and empowered 8,648 youth with potentially life-saving knowledge about abuse. Support generated through the Gala of Hope helps ensure these vital services remain accessible to individuals and families when they need them most.

The Gala of Hope continues to serve as one of the organization’s most impactful annual fundraising events, reinforcing the role that community partnership plays in advancing safety, dignity, and opportunity for survivors.
