Healthcare Workers Pack Backpacks for Students in Need

Northwell employees assembled and packed 200 backpacks filled with school supplies for Westchester students in need. The event, part of a larger systemwide initiative, contributed to the 3,000 backpacks prepared across five locations and funded by $67,000 in donations.
The Westchester drive took place at the WHF Training Center in Mount Kisco and saw 20 volunteers pack an estimated 2,000 pounds of supplies. The backpacks will be distributed locally through food pantries in Sleepy Hollow to ensure students head back to school equipped for success.
Northwell partners with the non-profit Supplies for Success to put on this backpack drive, which includes five sites: Westchester, Manhattan, Staten Island, Nassau County and Suffolk County.
