February lies at the heart of winter. It’s a time to marvel at our transformed (and recently snowy!) surroundings, cozy up in our homes and kitchens, and plan for the spring ahead. This month’s programs at Stone Barns Center in Pocantico Hills are all about learning new skills and getting out for a look at the winter farmscape.
Backyard: Beekeeping 101
Saturday, February 8, 1 – 3 pm $20/adult, ages 12 and up Stone Barns beekeeper Dan Carr teaches the ins and outs of getting started with bees, including ordering equipment, obtaining a queen and a colony, and working in the hive. Click here to register.

Farmacy: Herbal Health for Winter

Little Cooks and Gardeners: February Break Cooking Classes
Wednesday – Friday, February 19 – 21, 10 – 11 am or 2 – 3 pm $40/youth (includes attending caregiver) 3-5 year olds get their hands dirty in the greenhouse and in the kitchen as they discover how food is grown and how to make simple dishes at home. Sign up for one day or all three. Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
