August 2013 Family Programs at Muscoot Farm

Muscoot FarmMuscoot Farm is a Westchester County Park that strives to preserve and interpret its agrarian past. Visitors may stroll through the original barns, visit with the animals, participate in educational programs or hike the many miles of trails. There is something for everyone on Muscoot’s 777 acres!

Art Exhibit in the Main House Gallery – Saturdays & Sundays, August 3 & 4, 10 & 11, 17 & 18 and 24 & 25 – Noon – 4 p.m.
“Pastoral Images of Northern Westchester” by artist Mary Ann Healy member of the Northern Westchester Water Color Society.

Muscoot Farm Farmers MarketMuscoot Farmers Market – Sundays, August 4, 11, 18, 25 — 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Find the freshest produce, meats, fish, milk, eggs, baked goods, granola and pasta as well as lavender, honey, soap, sauces and peanut butter every Sunday through October.

Native American Demonstrations – Sunday, August 4 – 1 – 3 p.m.
Join Native American expert Barry Keegan as he demonstrates a variety of life skills, from five ways to make fire, to stone knapping, leather tanning, bows, arrows, baskets and more.

Mondays at Muscoot Bird Walk – Monday, August 5 – 7:30 a.m.
Join a member of Saw Mill Audubon for a walk through the trails.

Summer Fair at Muscoot Farm – Sunday, August 11 – 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Westchester 4-H Clubs show off the skills that they have learned all summer long.

Mushrooms of Summer – Saturday, August 17 – 1 – 3 p.m.
Join Zaac Chavez, naturalist and member of the CT/NY Mycological Association, on a trek in search of these fascinating residents.

Woodland Faerie Walk – Sunday, August 25 – 1 – 3 p.m.
Wear a costume and wings for a walk through the enchanted forest to discover the tiny creatures that inhabit the woods.
