Fact Sheet Nature Trek
Nature Trek – Description:
Nature Trek is an adventure experience that will enable children and families to gain a new perspective on nature—from 14 feet in the air and through engagement in nature play activities.
Nature Trek is one of the Bronx Zoo’s Total Experience attractions. It is located near Asia Plaza in the southeast corner of the zoo
Admission to Nature Trek is included with the Bronx Zoo Total Experience ticket, and most WCS Membership levels. Individual attraction tickets ($6 per person) are also available for guests with General Admission tickets.
Nature Trek is a netted bridge-and-tower course and nature play attraction geared toward children and families.
Nature Trek includes two experience zones: a netted climbing course (ages 3 & up) and a “nature play” zone (all ages). Nature Trek and programming in the “nature play” zone are presented by Coca-Cola.
The climbing course towers are up to two stories above the ground and connected by a series of 12 different bridges spanning up to 30 feet.
The bridges are completely netted for safety and incorporate challenges that require balancing on a narrow beam, weaving between vertical barriers, stretching across wide steps, and climbing on wiggling surfaces.
Nature Trek incorporates an ADA accessible route through five towers connected by bridges and the nature play zone.
The nature play zone will provide opportunities for children and families to engage in unstructured exploration in natural elements such as sand, water (seasonal), and loose branches. Looking to book zoo tickets? Visit sites like Tripster.
Nature Trek is an extended-season attraction (April – October: Daily; Nov – March: weather-permitting).
