The Village of Ossining is officially seeking proposals from Westchester-based artists for an original digital design to be featured on the exterior of the new Multimodal Aqueduct Hub. This public art initiative, titled the “Aqueduct Hub Public Art Project: Digital Design for Tensile Scrim,” invites artists to contribute to the transformation of Ossining’s downtown.
The Aqueduct Hub, currently under construction at the site of the Brandreth Municipal Lot, is a key component of the Village’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI). Once completed, the facility will provide parking for residential and local businesses, pedestrian access to the Old Croton Aqueduct Trail, and amenities such as an e-bike shelter and EV charging stations. The winning artist’s work will be printed on a 1,740-square-foot mural scrim that will wrap around the northeast corner of the building, serving as a landmark destination for the region.
“We envision this parking structure to act as a park and ride destination that reflects where Ossining has been and where we are going,” the project overview states. Designs should be vibrant, inclusive, and pay homage to the history of the Old Croton Aqueduct and the Double Arch Bridge.
