This Halloween Cabaret, conceived and directed by Katie Schmidt Feder, with music direction by Gerry Micera, marks the third production by Theatre in the Wood and will feature Mario Giacalone, Peter Moriarty, Melody Munitz, Mika Nishida, Nick Nazario, Katie Schmidt Feder. On stage will be a band led by Micera with Ian Cummings, Michael Lee, and Ryan Odell.
The show will feature songs from such Broadway favorites as The Addams Family, Beetlejuice, Young Frankenstein and other favorite spooky sources such as Nightmare Before Christmas and Rocky Horror Picture Show along with a few unexpected additions.
Ticket prices range from $25-$113 depending on seat location and experience. Some ticket levels include individual charcuterie plates created by the Dramatic Hall catering team of Kathleen and Gabriel Arango. Aptly referred to as “finger foods” as each which will feature a witch’s finger cookie from Baked by Susan. Cash bar table service and an artisanal concession stand featuring detectible treats such as caramel apple empanadas will round out the festivities.
The Historic Dramatic Hall is the perfect venue for this Halloween-themed show with its winding art nouveau staircases, exposed brick, and gothic steam punk feel. Costumes are welcomed but not required.
A special October 31 Halloween Night Performance will feature a costume contest and a post-show dance party until Midnight! Parking options listed on website. Theatre in the Wood is a theatrical and culinary production company formed fall of 2023. The vision of Theatre in the Wood encompasses a little of the nostalgia and fun of dinner theatres of the past with elevated culinary expectations staged in romantic, historical & nature-inspired settings. The mission is to perpetuate the art of musical theatre and provide paid work for its practitioners. In the first half of 2024, founder Katie Schmidt Feder conjured a travelling musical revue titled A MovableMusical Feast that craftily combined music – often relating to food – with staging and choreography that cleverly delivered a meal to the guests who were seated at elegant dining tables. The goal of Theatre in the Wood is to capture the feel of a dinner party where your hosts provide not only elevated food, but high-level entertainment as well.
