Sleepy Hollow Cinema, a new nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing film to Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown, is thrilled to announce its inaugural lineup of films for October.
The season will kick off with Poltergeist, the 1982 classic written by Stephen Spielberg, with a free showing at the Warner Library in Tarrytown on Oct. 23 at 6 pm.
Sleepy Hollow Cinema will then hold its official launch event Oct. 30 at the Lyceum in Tarrytown with a double feature of The Evil Dead, the 1981 Sam Raimi film that launched a legendary horror franchise, and The Velvet Vampire, a 1971 cult classic that is seldom screened. Admission for both films is $15. Come for one film or stay for both!
“Sleepy Hollow Cinema is incredibly excited to bring this slate of movies to our community just a few months after our founding as we look to secure a permanent location,” says Marc Solomon, SHC chairman. “We’re looking forward to bringing a wide range of films to our villages, from spooky horror to family classics, in the years to come.”
