Kids’ music performer Laurie Berkner invites families to share the spirit of the season with her when she returns to Tarrytown for two festive holiday concerts with The Laurie Berkner Band on Sunday, December 13 at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. at Tarrytown Music Hall.
“I’m thrilled that it’s almost that time of year again – when I get to perform holiday shows with the whole band for our fans at Tarrytown Music Hall!” says Laurie Berkner. “We’re so lucky that professional dancer Michelle Esch will be joining us on stage and, as always, we’ll be singing an array of our winter holiday songs along with lots of dancing, jumping, and, of course, marching. I’m so looking forward to this December family tradition.”
Laurie’s holiday concerts have something for everyone, no matter what they celebrate. At her Tarrytown shows, Laurie and the band will play a mix of traditional songs like “Frosty the Snowman” and “Jingle Bells” and songs from Laurie’s well-loved albums, A Laurie Berkner Christmas and Another Laurie Berkner Christmas, including “Candy Cane Jane” and Hanukkah songs “Candle Chase” and “The Dreidel Song.” Fans can also look forward to an array of Laurie’s greatest hits, such as “We Are The Dinosaurs,” “Victor Vito,” and “Bumblebee (Buzz Buzz),” along with recent fan favorites like “Waiting for the Elevator” and “Chipmunk at the Gas Pump,” and several numbers from Laurie’s new album, Walking With The Penguins.
Laurie’s concerts showcase an array of tunes that encourage kids and grownups alike to get up and dance. As a special treat, professional dancer Michelle Esch will join Laurie onstage in Tarrytown, enhancing the musical and visual experience by modeling movements that invite even more participation. Kids should plan to bring their dancing shoes and a stuffed animal (for their heads). Laurie hopes everyone will join in the holiday spirit and dance and sing along!
Laurie Berkner’s holiday shows have become a beloved seasonal tradition for many families, as essential as sleigh rides, snowmen, and hot cocoa by the fireside. Westchester Magazine enthused, “Laurie Berkner is considered a godsend by parents for being one of a handful of children’s musicians that all members of the family can enjoy in equal measure. If your kids are climbing the walls waiting for Santa to arrive and think they’ll burst before December 25, have them let off some steam seeing Berkner in concert.”
