Irvington Theater’s highly-acclaimed annual film festival of animated, live action, and documentary shorts by filmmakers from around the world returns to its historic venue on Saturday, April 26.

The 2025 festival theme is “Take Two,” celebrating stories of second chances, fresh starts, renewal, and reinvention. The lineup of films – from Iran and India to Australia, the UK, and the US – includes Favourites (dir. Nick Russell and Nick Musgrove); Curiosa (dir. Tessa Moult-Milewska); 3.400KG (dir. Atefeh Nafari); Le Parrot (dir. Rachael Sonnenberg); A Cow in the Sky (dir. C. Fraser Press and Darren Press); Make It Last Forever (dir. Julia Sub, music by Darryl Rahn); Voice Activated (dir. Steve Anthopoulos); Madhu (Honey) (dir. Tanmay Chowdhary and Tanvi Chowdhary); Terminally Ill (dir. Chris Cole); Your Loving Mother (dir. Cristina Zar); and Love to the Max (dir. Tanya Selvaratnam and Rose Bush). The synopsis of each film can be read at www.irvingtontheater.com/events/asiff2025.

“As iFF has returned after a 5-year hiatus and will have its premiere in our newly reopened theater,” says Irvington Theater Commission Co-Chair and As iFF Director Shana Liebman. “We hand-selected 11 brilliant, recent shorts that fit the theme of ‘Take Two.’ They range from 2 to 20 minutes across multiple genres, and many have already won awards at other prominent festivals. This is guaranteed to be a fun and festive evening of exceptional art, great conversation, good vibes, and community!”
