The John C. Hart Memorial Library will host three free outdoor concerts in July on its front lawn.
Phineas and the Lonely Leaves will perform on July 10; WestRock Acoustic Duo will perform on July 17; and the series concludes with The JAM Show on July 24. The concerts begin at 6 p.m. In case of inclement weather, the concerts will move into the library’s community room.
“Libraries are more than books and reading. They are community gathering spaces that welcome all to enjoy crafts, social events, workshops and music. We have a beautiful lawn for the public to enjoy,” said Library Director Yvonne Cech.
Concertgoers are encouraged to pack a picnic dinner and bring along a blanket or chairs to enjoy the outdoor concerts. In addition to music, there will be fun games set up for the whole family to enjoy. Ice cream will also be available for purchase.
“Summer weather gives us a great opportunity to reconnect with our neighbors and bring all of Yorktown’s neighbors together to build the community spirit that we all cherish,” said Yorktown Supervisor Ed Lachterman.
