Edith G. Read Wildlife Sanctuary Calls for Submissions to Its Upcoming Exhibit

Edith G. Read Wildlife Sanctuary in Rye is accepting submissions of photographs and artwork taken at, or inspired by, the Sanctuary on Saturday, December 6, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for its third annual Photography and Art Exhibit. All photographs and artwork must be framed and wired for hanging. One submission per person.

The display will open Friday, December 13, with a reception from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sanctuary’s Visitor Center. The reception is co-sponsored by The Friends of Edith G. Read Wildlife Sanctuary, which will be providing refreshments.

County Executive Ken Jenkins said: “This event is a beautiful reminder of the incredible natural beauty that surrounds us here in Westchester County. The work displayed helps connect our community to nature in such a meaningful way. This exhibit is a testament to the importance of preserving and appreciating our environment.”

Commissioner of the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation Kathy O’Connor said: “Edith G. Read Wildlife Sanctuary lends itself to photography and art given its diverse landscape. It’s a place where visitors can slow down, observe and find creative inspiration in the natural world around them.”
