Philipse Manor Hall State Historic Site and the Chaminade Music Club of Yonkers are pleased to present a performance by chamber music ensemble CreArt Box at Philipse Manor Hall State Historic Site (29 Warburton Ave. Yonkers, NY) at on Sunday, November 16 at 3:00 p.m.
Josefina Urraca (piano) and Guillermo Laporta (flute), co-founders of CreArt Box, will perform live in concert in the Philipse Manor Hall Gothic Chamber. CreArt Box is a leading force in the world of classical and contemporary music and a hub of creativity in New York City. Performing around the world, they bring their talents to Yonkers in this not-to-be-missed free concert.
A nonprofit arts organization that creates performances that blend classical and contemporary music with original concepts, CreArt Box is driven by multidisciplinary collaboration. Its initiatives support professional artists, encourage the creation of meaningful work, make world-class performances accessible to everyone, inspire and educate future generations, revitalize local communities, and nurture new ways of human expression. It has been celebrated by The New Yorker as one of its “art and music top picks” and by Time Out as an “ensemble devoted to multidisciplinary events.” In 2023, this organization celebrated its 10th anniversary season.
This concert is sponsored by the Chaminade Music Club of Yonkers, which for almost one hundred twenty-five years, has worked to promote and encourage the appreciation of music. Founded in the Park Hill neighborhood of Yonkers in 1895, its name was chosen in honor of Madame Cecile Chaminade, a well-known French composer who specialized in piano and voice. Ever since, the club has been organized around live music performances and music appreciation.
