Westchester non-profit, the Random Farms Kids’ Theater, in conjunction with NYC’s Broadway Workshop, will hold auditions for their annual “Industry Showcase Night” on November 7th at Ripley Grier in NYC (520 Eighth Avenue) and November 8th in Westchester at the Random Farms studio (1 Zeiss Dr., Thornwood). Auditions are open to young people ages 5 – 18.
Industry Showcase Night is an opportunity for kids and teens to perform in front of NYC’s top agents, managers and casting directors.
Those selected for the showcase will rehearse on November 22, with a dress rehearsal and performance on November 30 at Theater 555 in NYC. The showcase will be directed by Anya Wallach, CEO / Founder of Random Farms; James Scarola, Executive Director of Broadway Workshop; and “Industry Showcase Night” alum, Cameron Anika Hill, whose Broadway credits include Elf and Dear Evan Hansen.
To audition, prepare one minute of material – a song, monologue or combination of both. Or just tell a joke. You could even make up a commercial or tell a story. Industry professionals are looking for “raw” talent. What you do is less important than showing your personality.
Past participants of “Industry Showcase Night” include young actors who have recently starred on Broadway, such as Gianna Harris (Broadway: & Juliet, Hell’s Kitchen), Ashley Lalonde (Broadway: Dirty Dancing, National Tour: Hamilton), Reece Boyle (National Tour: The Sound of Music), and Harrison Fox (National Tour: Les Misérables).
On Film and TV, you can see Jeremy Rosenfeld (The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins), Gabrielle Uhl (13 the Musical Movie on Netflix), Rachel Resheff (Blue Bloods, Atlanta), Larry Saperstein (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series), and Remi Tuckman (Cocomelon, Paw Patrol, SNL).
There is no cost to audition or participate in this event. To sign up for an audition, or for more information, visit RandomFarmsNY.org/Showcase or BroadwayWorkshop.com.
