Dear Neighbors:
I am writing to offer my strongest endorsement for the re-election of Brian Pugh as mayor of Croton-on-Hudson. As your State Assemblymember, I have had the privilege of collaborating with many local leaders, and Mayor Brian Pugh’s policy leadership, tangible results, and dedication to progress are exemplary and truly stand out.
Croton has become a statewide leader in sustainability. Croton-on-Hudson has been recognized as a top Clean Energy Community, a distinction that has earned the village nearly $1 million in state grants. Earlier this year, the NY Conference of Mayors presented Croton-on-Hudson with the well-deserved Local Government Achievement Award in honor of the new Train Station Solar Canopy Project.
Beyond the environment, Mayor Pugh has shown a balanced approach to critical issues like housing, earning a commendation for the new Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) law, a key step to creating housing options for everyone from young professionals to senior citizens. Croton’s progress in this area also makes it eligible for state grants through NY State’s Pro-Housing Communities program which can help offset the cost of infrastructure improvements.
Mayor Brian Pugh and the Village Board have a proven, fact-based record of success that has directly benefited the Croton community. Their fiscal prudence is well-documented, consistently staying under the property tax cap while reducing village debt.
As a former Town Supervisor, I appreciate the challenge of balancing a budget while funding the services that residents need. Mayor Brian Pugh has shown that local government can be innovative and creative while still delivering on the fundamentals.
Brian Pugh is a proven leader with a strong record and vision for the future, and Croton is lucky to have him! A vote for Pugh is a vote for progress.
Sincerely,
Dana Levenberg
