The Sleepy Hollow Democratic Slate officially launched its campaign on June 23rd at Barnhardt Park, introducing an energetic and skilled team committed to revitalization, livability and connectivity for the Village. Mayoral candidate Marjorie Hsu and Trustee candidates Cory Krall, Jared Rodriguez, and Jairo Triguero bring a shared love for Sleepy Hollow and a vision for community-driven leadership. Endorsed by the Sleepy Hollow Democratic Committee and the Transparent Accountable Government (TAG) party, they aim to build a more inclusive, proactive and communicative local government.
Their top priorities are:
1. Economic Growth & Thriving Community
Supporting local businesses and revitalizing downtown will be a top priority. The candidates look to tap into the diverse experiences and talents of our community to form a committee to focus on filling long-vacant storefronts to expand shopping and dining options downtown. Enhancing public spaces and improving walkability will boost our quality of life, economic vitality and tourist experience.
2. Fiscal Responsibility & Clear Communication
The slate will pursue creative revenue opportunities, grants and will make budget decisions with full transparency and accountability. Everyone will be able to access and understand decisions and information, which will facilitate input from residents across all neighborhoods. We will provide real-time communications about the ongoing and upcoming information most important to residents.
3. Clean Water & Modern Infrastructure
The team will work with County and State partners to address infrastructure projects and provide access to the Hudson River for all. We are committed to modernizing systems, tools, stormwater systems and sidewalks to make Sleepy Hollow more efficient and effective at serving residents.
