Irvington School District Begins Superintendent Search

The Irvington School District has officially begun its search for the next Superintendent of Schools. The Board has engaged the services of the consulting firm, Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates of Rosemont, Illinois, to assist in recruiting the next Superintendent. It is the goal of the Board to appoint the next Superintendent by February 2012, and to have the new Superintendent begin her/his assignment on or before July 1, 2012.

What characteristics would the Irvington school community like to see in the next Superintendent?

To help answer these questions, the Board of Education has scheduled three (3) community “open forums” to solicit input from the community. The forums will be moderated by the consultants for the Board. Members of the community are encouraged to attend one of the following forums:

Nov. 13, 2011 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Dows Lane Multi-Purpose Room

Nov. 14, 2011 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Dows Lane Multi-Purpose Room

Nov. 15, 2011 9:30-11:30 a.m. Dows Lane Multi-Purpose Room

In addition to the “open forums,” all members of the Irvington School community are invited to complete a questionnaire. The questionnaire is designed to solicit information from community members regarding the desired characteristics for the next Superintendent. The questionnaire can be accessed as follows:

The Board of Education encourages all members of the community to participate in one of the forums and to complete the survey. The Board expects to share the outcome of the input from the community sometime in December 2011.
