Karla Constantinou’s AP Environmental Science and Marine Biology classes had a chance to climb aboard the Clearwater sloop on the Hudson in November for a wide variety of mini-lessons on topics that include: history and navigation of the Hudson; water chemistry; living organisms of the Hudson; daily life aboard the Clearwater; and the physics of hoisting sails.
Constantinou explained, “Spending time on the Clearwater and enjoying the beauty of the Hudson River was a way for our students to learn more about the important river ecosystem that is integral to the Hudson Valley.
