Westchester County Nature Center Events-Weekend of Nov. 15 & 16

trailside nature museumFall has arrived, and Westchester County Parks system offers fun-filled events, programs and activities all season long. Here are the Nature Center Events for the weekend of November 15 & 16:

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 15
Trailside Nature Museum at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Cross River – (914) 864-7322
Naturalist’s Choice Hike – 10 a.m.
Weather and seasonal changes will determine where this hike leads.

Lenoir Preserve, Dudley Street, Yonkers – (914) 968-5851
Introduction to Birds – 11 a.m.
Learn to identify a variety of local birds by sight and sound.

Tour of the Lenoir Mansion – 1 p.m.
Take a look inside and learn some of the park’s history. Meet at the mansion.

Marshlands Conservancy, Route 1, Rye – (914) 835-4466
Volunteer Work Project: Removing Problematic Vines – 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Bring work gloves; hand tools provided.

Read Wildlife Sanctuary, Playland Park, 1 Playland Parkway, Rye – (914) 967-8720
Firemaking Workshop – 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
No matches? No problem — if you know how to start your campfire the primitive way. Fee $5.

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 16
