“Chick” Galella and Frank Chebetar

On a warm and sunny afternoon two life-long friends reunited after 20 years. Armando “Chick” Galella and Frank Chebetar have known each other their entire lives, and after graduating from North Tarrytown High School they entered the Army and Navy, respectively.
Both men were at Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked on December 7, 1941. “The attack left 2,403 dead, 188 destroyed planes and a crippled Pacific Fleet that included 8 damaged or destroyed battleships.”

It also galvanized the friendship between the two men who, to this day, remain committed to sharing their experiences with the public whenever called upon to do so. Their sense of service and duty prevails and above all their respect and admiration for each other.
