River Journal caught up with Viktoriia Herasymova, owner and lead floral designer of Briarcliff Flower Shoppe in Briarcliff Manor last month to find out how things are going and what the future might bring for the shop. Below is a Q&A with Herasymova.
River Journal: When did you start your business and why?
Briarcliff Flower Shoppe: Briarcliff Flower Shoppe opened its doors in May 2024 with a mission to bring unique and high-quality floral designs to the Briarcliff Manor area. Previously, we operated a wedding floral studio in Yonkers, but as our business grew, we needed a larger space to meet the increasing demand. We also wanted to expand beyond wedding florals and offer beautiful arrangements for everyday needs.
RJ: What made you choose your business location?
BFS: Having lived in Briarcliff before, we loved the community and its welcoming nature. The charming village — which was missing a flower shop — felt like the perfect place to bring our vision to life.
RJ: What services and products do you offer?
BFS: We offer a wide range of services and products tailored to meet every floral need:
- Custom floral arrangements: From birthdays to anniversaries and everything in between, we create bespoke arrangements that convey the perfect message.
- Wedding florals: Our wedding services include bridal bouquets, ceremony arches, centerpieces, and more, available throughout the Hudson Valley, Fairfield County, and New York City.
- Sympathy flowers: Thoughtfully designed arrangements to express condolences and provide comfort.
- Floral workshops: Private and group classes where participants can learn the art of floral design.
- Seasonal and holiday designs: Festive arrangements for all major holidays and events.
