Astorino Attends Honor Flight Send-Off

Astorino attended the Hudson Valley Honor Flight send-off at the Westchester County Airport on October 18th, along with fellow patriots who cheered World War II veterans as they embarked on a one-day trip to Washington D.C. highlighted by their visit to the World War II memorial.

Up to 75 Westchester WWII veterans are traveling free of charge to our nation’s capital thanks to a $5,000 donation from the County’s Veterans Service Agency and other donations and sponsorships arranged through Hudson Valley Honor Flight.

“This is just such a wonderful initiative to honor the heroes from our greatest generation and I’m proud to be part of it in any way I can,” said Astorino. “They deserve an outpouring show of support and appreciation for their service and sacrifice and I hope my fellow patriots can come out Saturday and join me in cheering these heroes.”

Honor Flight will send 75 WWII veterans traveling on a one-day, all expenses paid trip to Washington, D.C.

A party was held in honor the WWII veterans flying to the nation’s capital at Westchester Community College.
