Zero Waste Task Force: Youth Action on Environmental Justice

Join WASS as we convene student environmental groups from around the county to empower the next generation of advocates for clean air, sustainable practices, and government accountability! As another school year begins, we need to give students the resources to learn about the environmental impact of human activity. We will discuss how various levels of government are involved in waste disposal, how Westchester’s current reliance on the Wheelabrator incinerator in Peekskill is dangerous and short-sighted, and how we can work with our elected representatives to do better. Our responsibility does not end at the recycling bin and how sustainable waste management programs are an important part of ensuring a clean and healthy future for all!
