The Divine Project

The Divine Project supports, invigorates, and expands the practices of queer and transgender artists of color whose work challenges the status quo and makes way for social change.
Concluding a weeklong residency at Pocantico, seven artist fellows from the Project will present a constellation of performances and workshops that incorporate sound, movement, drawing, and ritual. Together, their works-in-process reflect the Project’s commitment to art made with and for community, reimagining how we gather, listen, and care for one another.
Following the presentations, the artists will gather onstage for a discussion and audience Q&A.
The Divine Project fellows are are Crystal Clarity, lee hooper, Fatima Jamal, Khari Johnson-Ricks, Mai’yah Kau, Julia Rocha-Nava, and Amina Ross.
Presented in partnership with Eureka! and Public Assistants.
This event will be followed by a reception in the DR Center Gallery, now showing Woven Wonders: Kykuit’s Picasso Tapestries.
Guests may arrive 45 minutes prior to the event start time to enjoy the new Sculpture Walk outside the DR Center. Please note that events will begin promptly at their scheduled start time. Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of staff.
