“Painting the Valley” The Lambo Legacy – Exhibit and Reception

September 22 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

Tompkins Corners Cultural Center will present “Painting the Valley – The Lambo Legacy.” The exhibit will be displayed in our Maaike Hoekstra Gallery during events from August 15th through October 15th.

For decades, artists Don and Betty Lambo portrayed the landscape and community life in and around Tompkins Corners where they lived with their four children. Following graduation from Pratt Institute, Don had a successful career in both illustration and fine art. Betty also attended Pratt and graduated from the Advertising Design School. After several years in advertising, she also began a career in fine art. She liked to say her local work was how she envisioned the “good old days” in Putnam Valley.

The family exhibit will also include some work by their son, James Lambo.

A reception for “Painting the Valley” will be held on Sunday, September 22nd, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. This event is free, and refreshments will be served.

This exhibit is supported by a grant from the Anne Anastasi Foundation facilitated by Jonathan Galente and Mary Beth Minton.
