Livestock and Land Management with Stone Barns & RSPP

September 22 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Join a discussion with staff from Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture and Rockefeller State Park Preserve on regenerative livestock management and the role of herbivores on grasslands ecosystems. We’ll cover the basic principles of rotational grazing, the important function of each species of livestock in a diverse farm ecosystem, and the role livestock play in increasing wildlife diversity and soil fertility. Learn about our synergistic partnership and how shared agricultural land management practices support the regional ecosystem and stewardship in the Preserve. Stop by anytime within the 4-hour window. Cost: FREE, registration recommended in case there are changes due to inclement weather. Parking available at either Stone Barns or the Preserve’s main entrance. Photo courtesy of Heidi Fuhrman.
