Exclusive Pre-Release Screening of “9/11: Reclaiming Ground Zero”

After the 9/11 attacks, once the smoke was gone and the rubble cleared away, New Yorkers had a city to rebuild.
In response to fast-tracked redevelopment plans, more than 5,000 people gathered in the largest town hall in American history. They came to vote on the city’s six proposals for rebuilding Ground Zero. But instead, the people rejected the top-down approach and successfully charted a new path forward. Their work determined what is at Ground Zero today; their story is an example of what democracy can look like.
Following the screening of 9/11: Reclaiming Ground Zero, director Josh Sabey will moderate a discussion with Rockefeller Brothers Fund President and CEO Stephen Heintz and AmericaSpeaks Founder Carolyn J. Lukensmeyer.
This documentary contains graphic 9/11 footage. Recommended for ages 16 and up.
This event will be followed by a reception in the DR Center Gallery, now showing Shen Wei: Still/Moving.
The snow date for this event is Thursday, March 12, 2026.
