There has certainly been no shortage of rain recently, however, the Village of Tarrytown has had a paucity of machinery to pump that water at their pump station. According to Village Administrator Michael Blau, Tarrytown has four pumps at the station. One pumps 3 million gallons of water a day. Two others pump 2 million gallons each per day, while the fourth pump delivers 1 million gallons a day. At the time of this writing, only one of the four pumps was operational, supplying 2 million gallons per day. Tarrytown consumes 3.2 million gallons of water every day, so the Village has been supplementing its water needs by purchasing it from Greenburgh and Briarcliff Manor.
