EF International Academy, an international private high school in Tarrytown, is pleased to announce that its students will be moving on to some of the country’s top universities in Fall 2012. This year’s graduating class gained acceptance to a wide range of outstanding schools including Columbia University, the University of California-Los Angeles, Johns Hopkins University, and Fordham. Indeed, 90 percent of IA’s students gained acceptance to their top-choice university. We are extremely proud of their achievement.

In addition to a record number of college acceptances, IA students had a banner year in terms of academic scholarships and awards. In total, students received more than $1.8 million in scholarship incentives, making their accomplishments even more impressive.

Cassandra Dragon, IA New York’s Director of College Placement, provides individualized support to each of the students beginning in their first year of study, from SAT and ACT preparation to the creation of an outstanding personal essay. The personal, ongoing support allows students to feel confident and prepared in what can often be a daunting application process.

“Cassandra supported me mentally, which was important,” says Ye Hoon Shin, who plans to study computer science at Columbia University. “Not just for one meeting, but through every step of my application.”

In addition to schools within the United States, numerous students have chosen to pursue degrees at top universities worldwide, including the University of St. Andrews (UK), University of Amsterdam (Netherlands), and University of Hong Kong Science & Technology.

“Applying to college is the most adult process high school students will go through,” Dragon says. “I’m so proud to help these students find the right school for their individual goals and ambitions. It’s a wonderful thing to help them achieve their dreams.”

EF International Academy is open to both U.S. and international students, and both day and boarding options are available. For more information, visit www.ef.com/academy or (914) 597-7241
