In that latest effort, Mahopac National Bank has formed a partnership with the American Red Cross as part of its continued effort to assist the communities it serves.
Twenty-one employees were formally trained to participate in the Red Cross program called Ready When the Time Comes. Ready When the Time Comes participants serve as a reserve task force who will be called upon when disaster response requires increased volunteer staffing to support major emergency relief efforts. Volunteers might be called into action for disasters such as large-scale floods or significant power outages, as local communities recently experienced after Hurricanes Sandy.
As another hurricane season approaches, Mahopac National Bank wants to be sure that community residents are also ready when the time comes. Bank staff would like to help community residents understand what they can do to manage their finances when disaster strikes.
“We hope community residents will take the opportunity to visit any of our branch offices throughout Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess counties during the week of June 17th, when we will be proudly sponsoring Emergency Readiness Week,” said Gerald G. Klein Jr., bank president and CEO.
“Our staff is always willing to work with customers for the best financial solutions for their individual needs,” he continued. “With our special focus on emergency preparedness, we will have tips to safeguard finances and help families and businesses weather a storm or other difficult situation.”
