Some of the special programs offered at SPCC include: Afternoon Enrichment classes for 2-year olds with topics such as – Science & Sensory Exploration, Go-Green Recycled Art, and Cooking with Children’s Literature; Afternoon Enrichment for 3-to 5-year olds with topics such as – Sports and Games, Tae Kwon Do by UMAC, Yoga, Pre-K Zumba, Science Exploration and Cooking; and an extended day Lunch Bunch program, where the children gather together for lunch and games.
The teaching staff at SPCC provides developmentally appropriate activities to encourage social skills, enhance self-esteem and build self-confidence in each child. All staff members are experienced in early childhood education. In addition, head teachers are required to hold degrees in education or related fields. A head teacher and either one or two teacher assistants are assigned to each class. Many of the SPCC teachers have been with the program for 10 or more years.
SPCC also has an eight-week Summer Camp program for toddlers to 5-year olds. Summer Camp will run from June 16th to August 8th. Children can be signed up for any or all of the weeks offered. The camp provides a warm, nurturing, child-centered environment, in which children play actively outdoors, create crafts, splash in water tables and build friendships. Each week has a special theme such as Ocean Animals, Camping & Nature or Favorite Books, and camp-wide activities such as decorating t-shirts or having a treasure hunt.
All Enrichment programs and Summer Camp are open to the Community as well as registered families.
